Nutley Antiques - A 'Gem' of a Find

Whilst organising my office the other day I found a leaflet for 'Nutley Antiques'  - Nutley is a very small village about 30 minutes drive from where I live.  So I made a trip out there today with my dear friend Lin - WOWZER!! I love this place! - overflowing with everything I love, textiles, glass, ceramics, furniture and everything else in between!
This is the original paint on this garden bench - stunning...

I love the way the paint on this gorgeous cupboard has aged - lovin' the colours and layers.
A classic linen cupboard...

Vintage cutlery & Lloyd Loom...
Love this glass canister...

Pretty metal rocking horse...
Look at this cute vintage lawn mower...
This bust is gorgeous...

Look at the layered paint effect on the shop front!

The shop is a collection of different sellers, Clare Askaroff was manning the shop today and she also sells her antiques in Lewes Antiques Centre (stall 30) - which is also another great place I love for browsing antiques.
Do you have a favorite place where you love to browse?

  1. A gem of a place indeed! That would seriously dent my bank balance if I stepped through the door.
Unfortunately too far from Northumberland for a day trip, but on my list of places to visit when I have more time.
    Thanks for sharing

  2. I've looked over the photos more than once, what a fantastic place. I also looked up Nutley, and I think I'll have to visit one day and take a large purse full of money !

    1. Hi Fiona - It is absolutely fabulous - you would love it - I took the photos on my phone so I was pleased how they turned out - there was plenty more that I didn't capture though!

  3. In my search for retailers for Miss Mustard Seed Paint in Europe I found you. Love the stuff you create! I live in Sweden and I'm into traditional paint like linseed oil paint, egg oil tempera etc. but I'd love to try milk paint which also is a tradtional non-toxic paint :). I will follow you for more inspiration!
